At Almaza Jewelry, I only use Certified Forever One® Moissanite and Forever Brilliant® Moissanite by Charles and Colvard, which is the world’s whitest, brightest and finest moissanite.

Moissanite was originally born from a meteorite over 50,000 years ago. In 1893, Nobel Prize winning chemist Dr. Henri Moissan discovered tiny crystals of silicon carbide in an Arizona meteorite. And Dr. Moissan successfully identified these sparkling crystals as a new mineral find “silicon carbide” which chemical composition is SiC (diamonds are also made from carbon).

However, moissanite crystals were almost impossible to find in nature since they are extremely rare. Scientists worked for a century to find a way to recreate these brilliant silicon carbide crystals. In 1995, Charles & Colvard was founded to cut, polish, and bring to market the first finest created moissanite, so we now are able to create beautiful jewelry with these stunning gem stones.

Mesmerized by their brilliance, Tiffany & Co mineralogist George Kunz named the crystals “moissanite” in Dr. Moissan’s honor.

Forever Brilliant® Moissanite is up to four grades whiter than conventional moissanite, and in fact, moissanite has nearly 2.4 times the fire of diamond and also has 10% more brilliance than diamond!

Forever One® Moissanite is Charles & Colvard's new colorless moissanite. They are graded D-E-F in color (colorless). It also has 10% more brilliance than diamond and has nearly 2.4 times the fire of diamond too!

Both Forever Brilliant® Moissanite and Forever One® Moissanite are harder than sapphire and ruby. Durable and tough! It’s extremely resistant to scratching, breaking and chipping.
